Isnt it funny...

...How music can put you in certain moods?

Por Ejemplos:
-Low by Flo Rida hypes me up to go out and drink and party.
-Suavemente by Elvis Crespo makes me wanna dance (salsa especially, even though I don't know how)
-This Is How We Do by Big Tymers ghettos me up (though I can't play that role very well)
-A Whole New World puts me in a lovey, depressed, cheesy, pathetic mood.

I've been listening to music and self-evaluating tonight. What'd YOU do tonight?

I thought over and over about how stressful my work day was, and how I need a real week-long vacation, and how that's not gonna happen b/c I have 2 crazy cats that wanna kill eachother. Why are people such crazy assholes?!
Maybe some classical music would cal me.

what did i do last night? i painted, played rummikub, drank chai, read, took a shower..
i think music definitely has an effect on my mood. i get so mad if i am at a restaurant and they're playing really bad music. i have my music on all day in my room and i listen to music 95% of the time when i'm in the car. i always go back to boards of canada if i want to calm myself. newer madonna always makes me want to move my body and arabic music makes me angry (unless i'm at a wedding, then it's okay.)

Foof-
Don't you know marie is anti-anything arabic? except chai. she drinks the arabic kind.
Farah-
Classical is NOT calming. It makes me angry usually
Marie-

mar, i am with you on arabic music. it's not that i dont appreciate their attempts at being cool and hip to the times... i just have bad association with it--i remember driving up to school with my mom bumping boater music for all the white people to hear (i think she had hydraulics that went to the dumbug beat too). it was embarassing enough to eat turds (aka dolma) and thinking that commercials were called "dih-eye-ya". i just have no desire to hear them outside of weddings. scarred for life.

and last night i watched american gladiators during which derrick announced he could get up the cargo net faster than all the contestants can and probably complete the eliminator better--they all do it wrong....im dont even need to comment on him. you are all probably already laughing at him.

I love music too, and all kinds. Arabic music doesn't make me angry, it makes me want to dance actually. I don't know why you guys hate your roots so much.

okay now you guys are just putting words into my mouth. i DO NOT hate my roots. i am actually happy i come from some sort of ethnic background, but there are pros and cons to every ethnicity.
anyway, i don't like arabic music because i think it's cheesy. i also don't like country music and r&b...that doesn't mean i hate people from tenessee and detroit.

marie...i couldnt have said it better. not LOVING one aspect of our heritage doesnt mean im not a true boater.

I dont know how late I am on this post, but last night I came home from work and took a nap, then I went to the studio at 8 and stayed there til 2 in the morning. I recorded a new rap song that from what I understand is, "hot shit right there". I used a sample (melody) from a Magda Al Roumy song that I love called "Habebe".
Amazing how gangster arabic music can sound when you set some hard drums and 808's to it. Maybe these punk little chaldean fucks are on to something... By the way, if you want to be put in an automatic good mood... songs that always work for me is anything by the band "AIR" or "SMILE" by Demis Roussos . bye bye fuckers
